Day 12…For Cal, Frankie and Eloise!
First, I apologize to Cal, Frankie and Eloise for my delay in writing this final blog. We rode for these three courageous kids on the final day of the Cal’s Angels W.A.R. on Wheels, but I was mentally cashed after 11 days of hearing the heart wrenching stories of 15 kids who have suffered through their battle with cancer. There are countless others who have lost their battle or who have suffered through long battles because we have chosen other areas to invest our dollars and research.
I know it may not be a popular position, but millions and millions of dollars have been raised for other diseases like AIDS and ALS, which are awful diseases in their own right, but they generally impact folks that have lived a life. Kids like the ones we rode for got cancer as early as 9 months and in some cases have suffered and battled for 10+ years.
These kids just want a chance to live a life, play sports, build friendships, fall in love, get married, buy a house, have children, all while being cancer free!! While federal funding sits at a minuscule 4%, private funding can supplement those investments.
It takes a village, and I’d like to see this village of people support the millions of kids who have been impacted or lost their life to cancer and the millions who will be impacted in the future. We must raise awareness and increase funding for more research. We must modernize the treatment protocols so we can improve positive outcomes, but we cannot achieve this goal unless we invest more money in research, clinical trials and modern medicine.
If you would be so kind, please consider helping us raise awareness, donations, and funding to improve outcomes for those that will be impacted by pediatric cancer in the future.

As I close out the blog for WOW 5, it was a privilege and a blessing to represent this amazing charity and all the kids it has supported and will support in the future. Over the past 11 days we rode 950 miles and climbed over 45,000 feet. We faced all of Mother Nature with real feel temperatures near single digits, rain, crazy crazy winds, snow, sun, fog. We saw some beautiful parts of the US and we received some happy “honks” from supporters and we were nearly killed by a few drivers that clearly need to develop a little patience and maybe receive a giant hug from a stranger. I extend my forgiveness to those that choose to make our purpose that much harder and quite dangerous, but everyone should be extended some grace.
To Cal, Frankie and Eloise…you will never be forgotten. We will never give up on improving your outcome and the outcomes of kids like you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
God bless 🙏🏼
